Looking for fun things to do in Santa Barbara or Solvang this fall with the family? We’ve got a few ideas that could fit the bill!

As Santa Barbara County continues to safely reopen and has entered the next phase of reopening indoor operations, we couldn’t be more thrilled about all the fun things available for families. We often get calls and emails asking for suggestions of what to do with the family beyond our food tours and we are happy to announce that all of these options are available once again!

Visit Lane Farms Pumpkin Patch

Pay a visit to our adorable little pumpkin patch that turns into a magical Christmas tree farm come November. Hop aboard for a hay ride or run around the corn maze before you find just the right pumpkin to take home.

Santa Barbara Zoo

Even the animals are in full festivity mode at the zoo! Right now you can enjoy a stroll while taking in the Halloween decor before the reindeer–real reindeer!–arrive just in time for Santa’s debut. Know before you go tip: all visits are by reservation only and fill up fast! Be sure to visit their website for details.

Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History Sea Center

Starting October 15, get an up-close look at our local sea life an even pet a swell shark or stingray at the Sea Center on Stearns Wharf. Afterward be sure to visit their sister center in Mission Canyon where kids can enjoy more hands-on experiences.

Vote for Your Favorite Scarecrow

Take in the sights around our Santa Ynez Valley before you join us for a tasty food tour in Solvang! Wander the quaint country streets of Santa Ynez, Buellton, Los Olivos, and Solvang where local merchants show off their best scarecrow displays. Then pay a visit to syvscarecrows.com to cast your vote!

Count Your Blessings at Butterfly Beach

The beaches are open. The beaches are closed. The beaches are open! (Amiright?) We’re happy to say that our beaches are still open and now is the perfect time to prepare your mind for thankfulness this fall as you sit on the wall at Butterfly Beach in Montecito to watch the sun rise or set at one of the most beautiful beaches along the Central Coast.
