Road trippin’ is THE way to get around these days while we all navigate safe traveling and anxiously await international borders to reopen. However, it can be a challenge to find good eats when you’re on the road and sometimes tough to find places that are still open or navigate the specifics like seating, takeout only, and on and on. So, who better to ask for restaurant recommendations than our own community of food tour owners and guides?

We’ve got some tasty eats in our beautiful seaside towns, incredibly knowledgeable foodies who know the way, and food tours that are sure to make your travel plans a success! Check out our list of foodie experiences we highly recommend for your trip down the coastline of the Golden State.

Carmel Bikes, Bites, & Bevs

Eat a hearty breakfast before you head out on two wheels to explore the scenic Carmel coastline and its historic landmarks. Enjoy a couple of short hikes to take in the sights up-close before ending your bike ride in town where a friendly foodie guide will be waiting to lead you on a 2 hour walking food tasting tour. Not sure you’re ready to go from four wheels to two? Not to worry! This electric bike tour is suitable for any fitness level and quite frankly perfect for all foodies.

Taste of SLO

Do you like tasting really delicious food? Do you like fun? Take a walk with Taste of SLO in San Luis Obispo for generous food tastings and refreshments-alcoholic or non-at 4-5 eateries. Choose from their Uptown Mojo Tour, Friday or Saturday evenings, or their flagship Downtown Tour on Saturday afternoons and adapt to the “SLO attitude” while you learn about the heart and soul of local entrepreneurs, SLO culture, economics and history in between bites and sips. All are welcome on these tours from young people to well-seasoned people, little humans in strollers to vegetarians and fuzzy dogs.
Bonus: They’re offering a limited time 10% off discount! Use code EATSLO21 during checkout. (Offer good until March 31, 2021.)
